How to Use all of your Benefits (and not waste them) 

Be sure to make the most of your benefits this year! Below we put together a quick article that can give you tips to get started with whichever SDPEBA benefits you may have. 

Aflac  

Be sure to file Aflac claims for covered events! The accident plan, hospital plan, and critical illness plan all cover you for different things.  

If you have any of these plans review the plan’s brochure on our website to see if you could be paid!   

Aura 

When you enroll in Aura, they will send you an email to get started. Be sure to follow the instructions and start using the Aura app (on either your phone or computer). For more information click here

MetLife Dental  

Cleanings – You get two fully covered cleanings at in-network dentists per year. If you haven’t booked yours yet, be sure to do it soon!  

Also keep in mind that if you have the PPO plan, your $50 deductible will reset at the end of the year! Click here to find a provider

MetLife Legal 

Once you have enrolled in a legal plan, make an account online! After that, use their website or their legal hotline whenever you need it!

Sharp 

Click here to find a provider and book an appointment! Be sure you are using your annual doctor’s visit! If you have the Select/Classic plan, you also have access to 20/40 acupuncture or chiropractor visits with just a $15 copay.

Pet Insurance  

File a claim after you go to the vet! Both of our Pet Insurance providers have apps and online portals to file a claim.

VSP  

Eye Exam – With SDPEBA’s VSP plan you get one eye exam a year! Be sure you get yours if you have this plan! Click here to find a provider
