Sunglasses can Save your Life this Spring
Sunglasses are more important than you might think! Not only do they block UV light that can damage your eyes, they also prevent all sorts of issues! Check out the list below for more information!
Sunglasses = Safety
By wearing sunglasses you can prevent sand, dirt, and debris from getting int your eyes. On top of that, you can prevent yourself from injuring yourself due to “glare.” This might sound silly, but if you’re squinting or holding your hand up to block the sun while you’re driving, biking, or even walking, you are more likely to get hurt! It could limit your vision so you don’t see something in your blind spot, or keep you from thinking clearly if you need to make a split second decision.
Keep your Eyes from Getting Worse
Macular degeneration occurs naturally as you get older. Being exposed to harsh UV light can speed up that process tenfold. Cataracts, cancer, and even migraines can all be caused by over exposure to UV rays.
Reduce Eye Strain
Consistent light changes between bright and dark lights can create serious eye strain. That’s part of the reason why your eyes get tired looking at your phone or computer screen. It’s a lot of light! Sunglasses can keep light at a dim level and make it easier on your eyes so they don’t have to constantly adjust.
Sunglasses aren’t necessary, but they are nice! If you have VSP then they’re even nicer! Since you can use one of your frame allowances to buy a pair, even if they’re not prescription. Learn more about VSP here.
