Spring Break Ideas

Spring Break Ideas

Looking for things to do around this City for Spring Break this year? Check out this quick list for some local highlights!

Stay at a Local Hotels or Resort

Hotel Del, the Lodge in Torrey Pines, Mission Bay’s many hotels, the Town and Country in Mission Valley, and the dozens of B&B’s in Downtown are just a small sample of the great places you can stay and have a pampered experience in America’s Finest City.

Explore Balboa Park

While paying for parking is not ideal, this is still the best time to go. There are tons of events, the newly renovated Botanical Garden, and the zoo! At the time of writing this there are even still Cherry Blossoms in the friendship garden (click here to see the “bloom percentage” before going).

The Safari Park

Make the trek to Escondido and go to San Diego’s best kept secret, the Safari Park! If you feel like splurging, you could even do one of their specialty programs, such as a “safari,” a sleepover called the roar and snore, or go behind the scenes!

Experience Nature

San Diego is home to so many diverse ecosystems. There are huge wildlife preserves along the coast, in the mountains, and probably in your backyard. Open Spaces, Anza Borrego, Balboa Park, Torrey Pines, and La Jolla cove are all great places to get some steps in!

Go to the Mountains!

Julian (and other towns in the Cuyamaca Mountains) are the perfect place for a day trip or a weekend getaway. Whether you want a quiet night in a cabin, or want to hike up a huge mountain, you can have a lot of fun in these mountains. Just be sure to do some research ahead of time to make sure roads/trails are open before you head up.
