PEBA Cup and Open Tournament Rules - Cornhole 2024

-For The Department Tournament, a team must be comprised of two City Employees from the same department and there can only be one team per department.

-Teams must provide their phone numbers to be contacted on the day of the event and an email address to get relevant information in the days leading to the event.

-They will need to have the phones on and charged for the duration of the event.

-Teams must arrive on time for their scheduled matches 5 minutes beforehand or they will be disqualified.  

-We will follow ACA Rules (linked here), with the exception that a 20-minute time limit will be placed on games, note that this time limit is subject to change.  

-Ties will be resolved by a “shoot-out” meaning players will take turns trying to sink a “3-point” shot. The first team to do so is the winner. If both teams sink a “3-point shot,” they will go again until another shot is scored.  

-The winner of the PEBA Cup Department will win $200 for each team member, the PEBA Cup trophy, and bragging rights.

-The winner of the Department Tournament will win $100 for each team member.

-2nd place in either tournament wins $50 for each team member.

We encourage departments who have multiple teams to have internal competitions to determine who will represent them before the tournament begins, anyone who is not selected for the department tournament can join the open tournament.

For the Department Tournament, if one person from a team does not show, they can sub someone in FROM the department. They will need to check in with SDPEBA on the day of the event.
