What's new for 2024 Open Enrollment?

This year we worked as hard as possible to keep rates low. We balanced that with network and benefit enhancements, and we are proud to announce the following benefit changes for 2024.  

Aura 

Aura Identity Guard is now called Aura  

-Benefit Enhancement:  

-Aura now offers VPNs, Password Managers, and other Cyber-Security tools.  

- -Aura now increased identity theft coverage from $1 million to $5 million 

Sharp* (Only available for City Active and Retirees only)

6.2% Increase in premiums for Sharp Classic, Select, and Saver plans. 

Network Change: Sharp Classic is now part of the Value Network. 

-The Value network offers the same coverage as the Choice Network, but no longer covers “Individual Provider Network.”  

Network Change: Sharp Select is now part of the Performance Network. 

-The Performance Network offers the same coverage as the Premier Network, but now includes the “Rady’s Children Health Network.”  

There are no benefit changes to any Sharp plans.

MetLife Dental PPO* 

Slight premium changes 

-Single 0.5% increase 

-Spouse 4.4% increase 

- EE and Family .5% increase 

-Children 9% decrease 

Benefit Addition: Nightguards are now covered under major services.  

-There is a 60% in-network/50% out-of-network coinsurance for Nightguards. 

*For MEA represented employees: this plan is available as a flexible benefit option, that must be enrolled in through SAP.  For non-MEA represented employees: this plan is only available through payroll deduction. For flex options go to the City’s website, which will be available October 7th. 

 VSP 

14% Premium Increase  

Changes to allowances: Your two allowances are now different. 

-Allowance 1: Increase from $150 to $200 

-$55 copay for progressive lenses (standard and advanced) 

-Allowance 2: Increase from $150 to $170 

-No changes to lenses 

If a plan is not listed above, it has had no rate or benefit changes.
