Updates to Best Health – New features to make living healthy, easy! (City/Retiree only)
Best Health is Sharp’s Wellness Program and is available to all active City and retired SDPEBA members for free! The program has been a part of SDPEBA for a while, but recently went through a huge update, so if you have used it in the past, it is definitely worth checking out again.
What does Best Health Offer
Health Coach – This is one of Best Health’s coolest features and can be a great way to revitalize a health journey or get a new one started. After taking Best Health’s “Wellness Assessment,” you can enter a free six-week program where you get one-on-one coaching over the phone. These coaching sessions are 30 minutes each and are done by certified professionals who can help you with anything from diet, exercise, feeling better about your health, or kicking bad habits. And it’s all free!
Health Trackers – Best Health’s next best feature is online trackers. There are a lot of cool options that can even tie into your smartphone/smartwatch. These trackers can focus on food, exercise, steps, and more! You can even set goals within trackers or participate in group goals, where you share your progress with a health buddy.
Educational Tools – The underrated gem of Best Health is their huge archive of blogs, articles, and online tools that can make healthy living easier. These resources are all written by health professionals and go in-depth on a huge variety of subjects. For example, if you want to learn more about stress management, quitting tobacco, or setting health goals, there are dozens of articles for each of those categories!
And Much More! – The redesign has made the website much easier to use on both desktop and mobile, and it is constantly being updated. Through it you can find discounts on local gyms, free classes, and local events centered on being healthy! Be sure to check it out and explore.
