While that might sound complicated, it’s a lot simpler than it sounds. ","spans":[],"direction":"ltr"},{"type":"paragraph","text":"The Different Plans: ","spans":[],"direction":"ltr"},{"type":"paragraph","text":"The four plans we offer are: Sharp Classic, Select, Saver, and Medicare Advantage. Active City employees have access to Classic, Select, and Saver. Retired employees have access to Sharp Direct Advantage, Classic, and Select.  ","spans":[],"direction":"ltr"},{"type":"paragraph","text":"These plans offer different levels of coverage at different prices. Generally, the Classic plan is the most expensive and has the most coverage, followed by the Select, and then the Saver. The Direct Advantage plan is a Type C Medicare option for retired City employees who live in San Diego. ","spans":[],"direction":"ltr"},{"type":"paragraph","text":"All of Sharp’s plans are a part of the Sharp Rees Stealy (SRS) Medical Group and the Community Medical Group (CMG). These two groups encompass the entire City of San Diego, East County, Chula Vista, and have coverage up to Del Mar. Offices within the SRS network are “one stop shops,” meaning you can go there for you doctor’s appointment, get you blood drawn, and even pick up medication from their pharmacy. CMG offices are spread out, you will need to go to outside providers (such as Quest or CVS) to do blood work/pick up prescriptions. The other plans all differ slightly. This plan extends to North County and East all the way to Temecula. If you want maximum coverage, we recommend this plan. This is also the most affordable plan that includes Rady Children’s hospital group. This plan is also amazing because of how well it works with the City’s FBP credits.
